my classroom's a bloody mess. school starts on tuesday and it seems to be a good place. i've already made my first dw griffith joke in front of all of the teachers and it went over well.
i'm watching constant gardener with the wife and dog. it takes place in and around the kenyan slum of kibera. pretty intense. if you want an in depth look at my relationship with robyn you should watch this film... oh, i mean if you want an indepth look at the stuff robyn saw and experienced in kenya, you should watch this film.
i think rafe fines made this film to shake the evil nazi off his back.

the end of summer is usually depressing, but this year it's not for some reason. robyn is back from africa, which has put me in a very good mood. we're going to eat some flank steak and asparagus and watch a movie and relax. i've more training all next week for my new teacher job, some shows to prep for, a wicked concept album to piece together, sweet blockbuster movies to write, and many many other fun things to accomplish (including, most importantly, chilling out hard core).

more gems from the attic...
this was a section from a report for health class. i believe it is a response to a video we may have watched. i guess i was the inspiration for ignatius j reilly.
date rape
the purpose of this video was to make people aware of the dangers of date rape. it was a learning experience that i never really thought of before. i believe that this is true that boys shouldn't presist on "getting what they want." but girls shouldn't be so sudctive and revelieng.
girls should be able to speak up for what they believe is right, and boys should stop when being tempted. i wish this video would have given more ideas from the male's point of view, because alot of women don't know what's going through a buys mind when hes being tempted like this, i think that some of the feminists who made this video should think of the pressure that the girl is putting on the boy.
(note the teacher didn't correct any spelling or grammar mistakes)

funny stuff from my attic
i'm cleaning out my attic... old papers from school, etc.
some highlights...
1992 fax to jim rome
1998, your glory year you were led by mickey hatcher and alfredo griffin, half your team is drifting around the minors, on class c ballteams.
when your sending sympothy packages to crackdaddy, daryl straberry, filled with cocaine. to nocal, ponder on this question, who has one the most world series, and have the most men in the hall. p.s. switched at birth matt williams, harmon killibrew, and martina narvatilova.
and this journal entry. the topic: the most dangerous game i can think of is...
my answer: i would have to say what some of the marines did in vietnam, where they would have a deck of cards and if they were to draw out an ace, they would kill a whole town.

i am going to be working at david wark griffith middle school this next year. i will be teaching 7th grade english.
the school is indeed named after the same david wark griffith who directed such notable films as birth of a nation and intolerance.
it also looks like robyn's dad doesn't have parkinson's. i will celebrate by eating ribs and drinking soy milk.
