my night has been good. a nice dinner of meat and asparagus. a little fun making jest at andrew's hippie ideology. a little not thinking about school tomorrow. a little music time time. and some writing starting in a few. the dodgers won. i've really got nothing.

quick update on me:
not that anyone cares, i just think of this like a diary that a lot of people will be able to see- including myself and possibly my more industrious students. man, i hope my students don't google me.
watching: arrested development III, paths of glory
reading: dos passos, house on mango street (with kiddies)
listening: workingman's dead, marty robbins
working: teaching students some form of english sort of
lovin': robyn my wife and sadie my dog and jesus and red stripe, flank steak, baseball, willie nelson, dos passos.
writing: kinetivision
acting: this thing about a guy who was born with a muppett for a hand that this guy says he's going to shoot
writing: satchel paige, kinetivision
performing: jarvis
singing: songs that i play with the band rio bravo. i wish it were the lovin' spoonful.
i get up at 5:30 and go to bed between 11:30 and 12:30. the dodgers are hanging on by a thread. i like being busy. i jog a lot. i see people. i work. work isn't as bad as i thought. not enough time to think about it. "time keeps rolling along and there's nothing we can do about it," said poppo when my grandma was dying.
i'm watching the wheel of fortune. i'm more fascinated that its still on tv. pat say-jack is a big baseball fan. one of the good guys. we'll all be dead before we know it.

first day was alright. celebrating with an ice cold taycawtea and an episode of deadwood before i get into my evening routine. the routine will include: a jog, a movie writing time, a rock song, maybe more deadwood, some prep, maybe some roger rabbit, some fine cooked dinner, and maybe a couple innings of dodger baseball.
i was expecting gangbangers with red headbands, hairnets, moustaches, and those creepy tear tattoos. turns out i have a group of really nice kids (one period of 16 kids= awesome time) who answer questions when i give them candy. i was freaking out some yesterday, but it seems to be pretty cool. give me a call if you want to hang out and you live in los angeles. though i should take it easy some this week.
that guy who played daryl on the bob newhart show is really funny on deadwood. we have a garden at our school and we get to take field trips. we're called the beverly hills of east la. though i like to think of beverly hills as the east la of crapville. east la has wicked good tacos, beverly hills has wicked gross wrap sand-whitches.
oh... we're having a halloween party! come to our house when it happens.
